Getting started
R.L.SAND FITNESS works the moment you open it — no account, no sign-in. You can explore every screen for free; a one-time Full Unlock lets you create and save your own workouts.
Explore in demo mode
Open the app and look around. Progress and History show sample data so you can see how everything works before you buy. Nothing is saved to your device in demo mode.
Unlock to save your workouts
Tap Start Workout or Save and you'll see the one-time Full Unlock ($4.99). It's a non-consumable purchase — buy once, keep forever, and it's shareable through Family Sharing.
Log your first workout
Tap New Workout. Strength exercises take weight and reps per set; cardio runs on a live start / pause / finish timer that captures duration, distance, and calories. The app pre-fills the weights you used last time, so you just adjust and go.
Turn on Apple Health & backup (optional)
In Settings you can grant Apple Health access so completed workouts write to Health, and enable iCloud Drive backup so your history is safe if you switch devices. Both are optional.
FAQ
The questions we get most often. If yours isn't here, drop us a note below.
Is my workout data stored on your servers?
No. Your workouts, custom routines, and history are stored locally on your device. We have no account system and no server that holds your data. If you turn on iCloud Drive backup, the backup lives in your own iCloud account — managed by Apple, not by us.
What does the $4.99 purchase unlock?
It's a one-time Full Unlock that enables creating and saving your own workouts. There's no subscription. Demo mode is free forever and lets you browse every screen with sample data.
I bought it on another device. How do I restore it?
Tap Restore Purchase on the paywall or in Settings. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID, your Full Unlock will restore. Because it's Family Sharing–enabled, family members in your group get it too.
Does it use Apple Health?
Only if you allow it. With permission, the app writes completed strength workouts to Apple Health and can read body weight and active energy. It's entirely optional — decline and the app works exactly the same. Health data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Can I move my history to a new phone?
Yes. Export your data to CSV (or back it up to iCloud Drive) on the old device, then import it on the new one. Import merges rather than replaces, and re-creates any exercises that are missing, so nothing is lost.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. The app is offline-first — logging and browsing your history need no network at all. Internet only comes into play for optional iCloud backup and, if you've left it on, anonymous usage analytics.
What exercises can I track?
Strength exercises (weight and reps, 1–3 sets each) and cardio activities like treadmill, indoor and outdoor bike, running, and walking (on a live timer, with distance and calories). Distance shows in miles or kilometers — your choice in Settings. You can also add your own custom exercises, so a timed activity like a pickleball match logs as custom cardio. Workouts are tagged Strength, Cardio, or Hybrid automatically.
Can I use it with my Apple Watch?
Yes. R.L.SAND FITNESS includes a companion Apple Watch app that runs the whole workout from your wrist — leave your phone in the locker. Guided strength walks you set by set (turn the Digital Crown to set the weight, tap to log reps), and cardio streams live heart rate, distance, and calories. Everything logs on the watch, even fully offline, and syncs back to your iPhone automatically when the two are in range. It needs watchOS 9 or later.
Is there an Android version?
R.L.SAND FITNESS is currently an iPhone app. If Android support becomes available we'll announce it here.
How do refunds work?
App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, not by us. reportaproblem.apple.com is the path. If you're stuck, contact us and we'll help you frame the request.
Troubleshooting
The most common issues and their fixes. Try the matching one before sending us a note.
My purchase isn't recognized
Make sure you're signed in with the Apple ID you bought it with, then tap Restore Purchase in Settings. If it still doesn't restore, check for a pending App Store payment, then relaunch the app.
Workouts aren't in Apple Health
Open Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → R.L.SAND FITNESS and confirm write access is on. HealthKit only records workouts saved after access is granted.
A CSV import didn't bring everything in
Import expects the app's own export format. Export a fresh CSV from the source device and import that file — the app merges the data and re-creates any missing exercises automatically.
